Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine

The Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine provides critical care in the medical intensive care units and consultative services at University Hospital, Jackson VA Medical Center, and the University Medical Pavilion. The division oversees diagnostic testing and clinical activities.

The division hopes to provide care for our state’s most difficult pulmonary pathophysiology. This is achieved through ongoing clinical research studies, so the latest therapeutic options are available to our patients, as well as a robust training program in pulmonary and critical care medicine so that we can expand the number of specialty physicians in Mississippi.

Welcome from Our Division Director

We are glad you have taken the time to learn more about the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at UMMC. This field is such a unique one because it provides both the intense inpatient experience with a wide array of ICU pathology and the highly specialized pulmonary medicine aspect. UMMC is the only tertiary referral center for the state of Mississippi and this provides a diverse mix of common and rare pulmonary diseases as well as an abundance of conditions in ICU patients.
